This group is for post graduate students and early career researchers - a space to discuss thesis development, grappling with theory, publishing and how to sound smart at conferences.
I'm really interested in the way public space is used, particularly for dissent. I'm also interested in the pedagogies of public spaces and modern social movements. Basically, I'm intrigued by education in its broadest sense, and the "teaching" and "learning" that go on in social movements and public spaces.
Hi Josh, I've been trying to attach that article to your inordinately long email address (not really, I'm sure mine is longer). However, I'm having troubles from my home computer, perhaps because the file is a pdf which I put together myself? Maybe my computer's just sleepy. I'll try again later today and should that fail I'll make a note to try again when next I head in to uni ... I'll also respond to your geographical questions about the whereabouts of Flinders uni. Sam ;)
Hi Joshua, I may be way off track in terms of your interest in 'space', however, I found this article some time ago. Let me know if it's 'up your alley' because I'd be happy to forward a copy: Hesse, B. (1997). White Governmentality: Urbanism, nationalism, racism. In S. Westwood & J. Williams (Eds.), Imagining Cities: Scripts, signs, memory (pp. 86-103). London: Routledge.
