About me
I teach a core course called 'Educators' Work' at UniSA, It covers the nature of teachers work, teaching as emotional labour, the effect of policy on teachers and the everyday world of the classroom among other things. I am a former teacher and my PhD was an ethnographic study of teachers work in a Catholic school in NW Sydney.
Research interests
My research interests relate to teaching as a form of emotional labour, school choice and school leadership. I am especially interested in the growth of faith based schools in Australia. I also am currently working on a project that examines the nature of school principals work in terms of emotional labour.
Iam especially interested in using Foucault within ethnography as a form of methodology.
Key theorists used
Foucault and Bourdieu

Hi Margaret,

Yes it says "Adelaide" but really I live in McLaren Vale. I do make it in to Adelaide once a week or so, usually on weekends. I'm going back to Flinders University for a Grad Dip in Language Teaching so I will also be there twice a week starting in March.
