Hi Robert I'll have a look at these ideas and get back. Thank you for taking up my idea - though be good to hear 'others!'

The question concerns how, as Early Childhood lecturers, can we challenge students to confront their own understanding of 'otherness.' In other words how can we problematise their presupposition of all children being equal.

Christopher,

Could you provide some context to your request? Maybe some more details of what you are in doing?

Hi - I am interested in the difficulty of 'otherness' and perception of issues surrounding 'difference.' In other words I wonder if anyone can point me in a direction regarding presumably Foucault and otherness when otherness cannot be conceptualised.

Linda,

I think the subject of the chapter you are writing is very interesting. Please inform us when it comes out. I will definitely read it. Have you written anything on Foucault and literacy?

Hillevi is now a member of this blog, so you can communicate directly with her...

I am not qoiute sure what you mean by your question about plugging some publishing, since english is not my first language. Could you please explain?
Looking forward to read your stuff on multiple literacies!

These sound interesting, I'll look out for them - I've heard of Taguchi certainly. Can I plug some publishing too? I am contributing a chapter to a publication on Deleuze and multiple literacies theory in early childhood, which will be out next year. I am writing my chapter on drawing in relation to Deleuzian and Guattarian concepts of Desiring and Rhizomes. I am looking forward to seeing it come to fruition.

I think the work of Hillevi Lenz Taguchi is useful. She is coming with at least one book in english next year. Also the thesis of Liseliott Olsson: "Movement and experimentation in young children´s learning: Deleuze and Guattari in early childhood education" is really good. This will be published as a book on Routledge in february
